Hi, I’m Paul and I teach RPM. I was born in the UK in a small village just outside
Cambridge, and lived there until 18. Then it was on to Southampton University and later
Coventry University on a post-doc and from there into the oil industry in 1984 as a
palynologist, a branch of paleontology. The next 30 years saw me living and working in
various countries including Singapore, the Peoples’ Republic of China, Egypt, Indonesia,
Azerbaijan and the US.
It was in Indonesia diving in 1985 that I met Floridian Annette and we were married
overlooking Lake Tahoe, NV, in 1992 (simple, just do it!). We moved to Seminole from
Indonesia in 1999 and when Spinning came on the Seminole LFF schedule in 2003 I certified
with Johnny G; I’d ridden road bikes since 1967 so this was a natural progression. RPM was
introduced to LFF in 2004 and I was in the first group to go through training. I’ve been hooked
ever since on this HIIT programme.
Aside from being at Kinetix we are environmentalists and if not tending native plants in the
garden for the butterflies, bees and birds, we are out hiking and birding. We travel as
much as we can – there is a big world out there that everyone should explore!
