Group Fitness Instructor

I was born and raised in Tarpon Springs, Florida, the Sponge Capital of the World! At 14, I was
diagnosed with scoliosis and my doctor urged me to practice yoga for stronger posture. I had never
enjoyed exercise, but grudgingly went to a class. I became stronger, more flexible, and confident,
and found immense pleasure in exercise. I tried weight lifting, step aerobics, and kickboxing, and
found my niche in Group Exercise! Several instructors suggested I become an instructor because I couldn’t keep the giant smile off my face during classes—it was too much fun!

I certified as a Group Exercise Instructor in 2004, but it took me until 2006 to work up the nerve to
instruct. I taught step aerobics and strength/resistance, then kickboxing, boot camp, circuit training, yoga and Pilates.

In 2011, I certified in Les Mills BODYPUMP®, which was dramatically different than what I had done
before and propelled my fitness to a much higher level. I’ve been in love with BODYPUMP® since!
In 2014, I earned my MFA in Studio Art from Texas Christian University. While I enjoyed Dallas, I
longed for the coastal lifestyle and landscape I knew as “home.” I saved my Group Exercise income in
a “Florida Fund”, and moved to Clearwater in 2016. I met an amazing community of Group Exercise
Instructors and acquired classes of my own. An enormous stroke of good luck led me to be hired as an adjunct art professor by SPC.

In 2017, I certified in Les Mills TONE® and I am officially a Les Mills addict! Group Exercise is a
magical experience when the music, choreography, and instructor coaching all align to transcend mundane “exercise.” This is what Les Mills classes are designed to do!

I am grateful to be a part of the Kinetix family. The members and staff are incredibly supportive and
friendly, which makes every class I teach here a pleasure! I look forward to meeting you in class!
